I can still feel you. I can feel you under my skin, Running through my veins I can still feel you. Making my heart beat a little faster, But often you calm me down. I can still feel you. Flashes of us being together Of you holding my hand. I can still feel you In the heat of the night When I’m all alone I can still feel you. Keeping me alive Keeping me safe I can still feel you Keeping me warm Like a furry coat I can still feel you Your […]
I think we all have those days. You look at your computer and all you see is that stupid blinking cursor, just taunting you. Waiting. Just waiting for you to fail to get a word out of your head. Just waiting for you to just give up, close the window and get sucked into watching another season of something your friend recommended. Just waiting for you to check your checklist and put an “x” on “write a f*cking chapter” But then it’s worse when it happens for a week. And then a month. Little did you know, you haven’t written […]
She’s playful, isn’t she? The way the top of her head peeks through the clouds, the way the rest of her is still hidden. But when you look down, you can see all of her, her glow kissing the sun beneath her. And then she slowly she slowly shows herself, her hear dancing on your skin. It’s then you know, it’s going to be a wonderful day.
There is so much love in the world right now, don’t you feel it? People who have waited for years to be wed can now have each other’s last names. In my hometown they’re celebrating our fiesta and my Facebook feed is full of happy greetings. Even with the news talking about the other side of it, why listen? Why open the news to hear about bombs or death or of a fire? It is good to be informed, but why depress yourself with something that you have no control over? Beautiful things are happening, why ruin it? I have noticed […]
I hate long distance relationships. I’ve hated it since I was a kid and my dad would always go to another country for work, leaving my mom and my siblings, thus the first long distance relationship I could ever have. Whenever he would come home I’d ask when he’d leave again. Little did I know years later that I would be the one who was doing the leaving in my relationship. Let me go back from the beginning. “Hi. Nice to meet you. I’m Anthony.” It was love at first sight for him. At least that’s what he told me. […]
There’s an achievement that every writer crosses over that just means something. For some reason I skipped the usual achievements. I published a short story collection before writing an actual novel. But today I have proudly finished my first ever novel! All My Favorite Words was a short story collection turned into a creative non fiction. 😀 I just wanted to share that and document it here. So there you go! Also, the first author I launched has her book at 44% discount this weekend! Check out her book here: My Best Friend’s Brother
There are a few who see talent in its raw form. There are a few who encourage it, to see the caterpillar transform. He taught us the Chuga dance, and even how to make a siopao He’s driven and ultimately awesome, Ready to help his students with every chance he can get. To the first teacher who helped me find my voice, who have done it to others a thousand fold, Happy Birthday Sir Stephen Esber, You are one of the few who see beauty and help mold it, Thank you to wherever you are in the world.
She was beautiful. I couldn’t take my eyes off her. She was breathtaking, curvy and had something in her that made my heart go badump. I combed my hair back with my fingers and stood up straight, my mind rambling to find the words to talk to her. Just then a familiar arm circled her waist, and when she turned around to face the guy, her smile gave me a heart attack. As if the universe wanted me to die right there. “Hey Ron!” Jessie called out to me. “This is Vivian. My girlfriend.” And then he kissed her.
“Someday, we will meet in a place somewhere like this.” These were his words, words that have pained me all throughout the hours after I held his hand that last time. His words that once comforted me, turned into a nightmare that never seemed to end. He was here. And then he was not. Oh those promises he made, were now as cold as his hands. I wasn’t even allowed to see him in the box where he lay, silent, and at peace, two things I will never be again. Until we both meet at the place he promised, I […]
I write stories as if they were one night stands. Boom. Kablam. Thank you ma’am. You go in, you meet this sexy little thing, you get to know about it, read it, then something happens inside you and you just dive. Moments later that person walks out the door and you’re either feeling satisfied or empty, depending on how the sex -in this case story – was. If you fell in love with the character or not and if you hated the story or you want more, you can’t do anything about it. The story walked out of your life but […]
